Early this morning, isolated showers are lingering across Kansas,
with a few thunderstorms tracking across portions of Nebraska and
the northern High Plains. This activity is forecast to wane
through the morning hours, and attention will turn to potential
for strong to severe storms across the northern High Plains this
afternoon. These storms will track eastward through the afternoon
and evening hours, and they will slowly lose their organization
and intensity as they approach central portions of Nebraska and
Kansas during the nighttime hours. Afternoon highs today will
generally be in the 80s, and overnight lows will be in the upper
50s to low 60s across the region.

Thursday also presents chances for strong to severe storms across
much of the region, especially during the afternoon and evening
hours. Thursday afternoon highs will vary across the region, with
the coolest temperatures across the northern High Plains as highs
there only rise into the mid 60s, while southwest Kansas is
forecast to rise into the upper 80s. However, the rest of Mid-
America can expect temperatures in the mid to upper 70s Thursday
afternoon. Thursday night lows across the central plains will dip
into the 50s and 60s.
